Rapid assessment of visa policies in Oceania
This paper presents a rapid assessment of visa and mobility policies in the Pacific region , in relation to climate change and environmental degradation. The study examines to what extent existing national and regional policy frameworks address the mobility needs of populations affected by environmental stressors. Through a targeted review and qualitative analysis of migration policy instruments, the paper identifies existing mobility pathways, gaps, and emerging policy innovations. The findings will offer insight into the preparedness of the region for climate-related mobility and propose directions for policy development. This project is part of CliMigHealth’s Asia-Pacific hub, within our Governance research stream.
