Research(communication) and dissemination intern CliMigHealth

On offer with this internship is the chance to gain research (communication) experience in the international and transdisciplinary network CliMigHealth (www.climighealth.com), based in Ghent University, Belgium. Focus will be on working to produce policy-relevant research and communication messages on pressing issues around climate change, migration and health(care). Working closely with the coordination team, the successful applicant will assist in our COP27 campaign targeting the climate-migration-health nexus in Africa, through follow-up of the strategic research agenda, support and contribution to ongoing research projects, the dissemination of research in academic and popular media, and spreading our work as far and wide as possible, using all channels at their disposal. This will include drafting research projects, participating in the coordination and production of content for social media and the CliMigHealth website, producing academic output on our medium.com blog and other channels towards COP27, collaborating on the monthly newsletter, and other related tasks as they appear. The successful candidate will also report on events at our premises in Ghent, and will connect with our partner UNU-CRIS in Bruges. 

Supporting the execution of our strategic research and communication plan of 2022-2023 at CliMigHealth is the overarching goal of this internship.

Profile

The candidate must have a university education, at master’s level or higher, and an excellent command of English. As this is a network on climate change, migration and health(care), the candidate should have a demonstrable interest in one or more of those fields, with a degree in the field an advantage.

Required skills

  • An excellent command of the English language;
  • Strong academic writing skills (ability to write concisely and quickly);
  • Interest in research communication and dissemination;
  • An eye for detail;
  • Autonomy and initiative;
  • Open-minded and ability to work remote and in a team;
  • Knowledge of mail design (mailchimp), graphic design (Photoshop/InDesign), video production (Adobe Premier Pro/Rush) or web management (Drupal) is a plus.

Duration

We’re looking for someone to start 15 October 2022, on an initial three-month contract with the potential to extend for a second three-month term, remunerated at €1000 per month.
